Libraries = Strong Communiites.
This year’s National Library Week theme celebrates the power of academic, public, and school libraries.
Libraries mean many things to so many people, especially young readers. Libraries have the power to strengthen communities and spread a love of reading among people of all ages – and as Barbershop Books proves everyday throughout the country, a library doesn’t always have to be in a likely setting.
A library can be in a barbershop, a library can be in a laundry mat, and a library can nestled in your favorite street corner. Wherever the library might be, it has the power to transform every life it encounters.
Much of what we do at Barbershop Books is inspired by the hard work and dedication of librarians who strive to ensure that all children find a passion for reading. It is throughout their passion for reading that others are able to find theirs.
Throughout this week and month, we will be honoring the tremendous impact that the libraries have in communities by sharing our library stories using the #MyLibraryMyStory hashtag.
