World Read Aloud Day

Can you guess what day is quickly approaching? World Read Aloud Day! It’s on February 1, 2019!

This is one of our favorite days of the year because it celebrates the power of not just reading, but reading aloud with others such as your family and friends. Every year, on World Read Aloud Day, people all around the globe read aloud together and share stories to advocate for literacy as a human right that belongs to all people.

The global effort is now celebrated in over 173 countries and counting!

Will you join the movement? Create your own special one-on-one read aloud moment or a school-wide event using the resources provided by LitWorld and use #WorldReadAloudDay to share your pictures. Throughout the week, we will be sharing special moments of kids reading aloud in barbershops across the country.
