Help launch our award-winning literacy program, Barbershop Books, in a specific neighborhood or across your entire city. Use our three-phase implementation process to identify, recruit, and equip 10 or more local barbershops to support the early literacy development of Black boys.

Introduce your school district to our new supplemental K-3 literacy program, which was designed by Black male early childhood educators to increase reading motivation and improve literacy outcomes among America’s most vulnerable children. Reading So Lit Classroom provides teachers, principals, and caregivers with student generated data they can use to create more personalized reading experiences in school and at home.

Offer 1-3 weeks of fun early literacy enrichment and social-emotional learning support for children ages 6-8. Using our innovative and flexible content, your school, church, or community-based organization can inspire kids to read and explore their feelings during the summer months.  The program includes highly engaging lessons, detailed lesson plans, curated book sets, and hands-on activities to support 40-60 minute lessons 2-4 days a week.

Request a Meeting

Are you a creative and engaging educator, parent, or school leader with a passion for inspiring Black boys to read?  Do you know a fun early literacy game, rap, chant, or reading strategy that boys love? Barbershop Books wants to showcase quality early literacy video content to support the reading success of Black boys and other vulnerable children.

All are welcome to submit. We are especially interested in amplifying the voices of Black male early childhood educators.
