Reading So Lit Classroom Pilot

A Supplemental Literacy Program from Barbershop Books

Welcome to Reading So Lit Classroom, a supplemental literacy program that uses social-emotional learning, culturally responsive teaching, and imaginative play to support diverse, equitable, and inclusive reading experiences in school and at home.

This new functional literacy program includes a digital Teacher Guide with interactive lessons and hands-on activities that examine the behaviors and habits of young readers and invite students to investigate their own reading preferences. To inspire reading and make it personal, diverse illustrated characters serve as relevant reading role models for students. During Fall 2021, Reading So Lit Classroom will be piloted in 10 first grade classrooms.
